DescriptionCalypso del Sol is an air-conditioned, free-standing house. Parking is immediately outside the front door on a smooth, paved driveway. Access into the villa from the driveway is easy -- a 2" step up over a threshold into the living room. The villa has two floors -- the top floor has the living/dining/kitchen area, a screened porch, a huge covered deck overlooking Chocolate Hole Bay, the master bedroom and bath. The lower deck has two equal-sized bedrooms and full baths both opening out to another large covered deck overlooking the Bay, and a laundry/storage room. The pool deck is readily accessible from each deck and is located a few steps down from the first/entry level.
Inside the villa, our goal is to provide the basics so you don’t have to “provision” the whole villa and so you will have a comfortable and relaxing time.
In the kitchen, we provide filters for a coffee maker, salt and pepper and some spices, tea bags and sweetener/sugar, napkins and paper towels, dish soap, sponges, plastic bags for food storage, trash bags, etc.
For the bath, we provide basic supplies of toilet paper, tissues, shampoo, and conditioner, hand/bath soap, etc.
We provide laundry detergent for the washer and dryer, which are available for you to use.
We provide all linens and towels for the house, including one beach towel per person. We typically have a good supply of suntan or sun-blocking lotions as well as insect repellent, many of which other guests have left behind to share.
If you have extra needs or wish something special, please let us know before your arrival. If you need more than the basic amounts of paper goods we supply, you will find good availability for all of those items at the Cruz Bay grocery stores.
While at Calypso del Sol, we urge you to be judicious in using water. One of our mottos is “Save water! Shower with a friend!” Our water is primarily rainwater stored in cisterns under the villa – then purified so it is quite safe to drink. In dry times, we must buy water which is amazingly costly. So your help is appreciated in conserving water. (And electricity.)
